Medea

Iranian-based Mehr Aeen’s newest work provides a unique visual interpretation to Euripide’s classic play “Medea,” a powerful story of jealousy, revenge, and betrayal. The “Medea” cast is an ensemble of deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing performers committed to creating visual theatre that is inclusive. Cultural and religious protocols in Iran provide interesting challenges for an ensemble of men and woman performing visual theatre. As a result, Merh Aeen has developed its own unique style of visual theatre. It is a style seen nowhere else in the world.
